Social media marketingLooking for your customers? According to a recent survey, you can find most of them pretty easily: they’re on social media. And they’re on it every day. Maintaining an active presence for your business has become a marketing necessity.

The Manifest, a business news and how-to website, surveyed social media users on their habits. Responses show that many people are communicating, interacting with brands, and making plans through social media. Business accounts for social media are an effective way to put your brand in front of the public.

“Just like brushing their teeth, grooming, eating meals, and going to work or school, social media is an important part of people’s everyday lives,” the report states.

While Facebook remains the most established and most used social media outlet, most Americans use a variety of social media. YouTube and Instagram are gaining ground on Facebook, too. For business owners, interacting with current and prospective customers on these channels can be a cost-effective method marketing tool.

Those surveyed said that their use of social media increased from 2017 to 2018. It has become part of most Americans’ daily routine. As past generations awoke to a printed newspaper to connect with the world, people in 2019 access social media each day—often multiple times.

According to The Manifest’s Kristen Herhold, Most consumers don’t go a single day without social media; businesses should be on it, too.
