Colorado WaterWise will present its tenth annual Water Conservation Symposium on Tuesday, October 30 at Denver Botanic Gardens. The event provides education and networking opportunities for water industry professionals and for those interested in efficient use of urban water in Colorado. It also addresses issues around water conservation and introducing new people to careers in the water industry.

Denver’s green roof ordinance, passed in November 2017 and effective January 1, 2018 may not result in many new green roofs in the city and county. After much research and discussion, the Green Roofs Review Task Force made recommendations to a Special Issues Committee on Thursday, October 11. Those recommendations include alternatives to installing a green roof on new buildings or buildings that meet the criteria for the green roof ordinance.

Requested Action: Please call your Representative and ask him or her to sign onto the H-2B letter that is currently being circulated by Reps. Bergman (R-MI) and Keating (D-MA). You can reach your Representative through the Capitol switchboard at 202-225-3121. Once connected to your lawmaker’s office, ask to speak to the staff person who deals with H-2B visa issues. Explain to the staff person the importance of H-2B cap relief to your business and ask him or her to encourage your Representative to sign the Bergman-Keating letter. Colorado representatives' contact information can also be found on this document.
