Business owners in the Denver metro area have the opportunity to meet directly with leaders in the Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division’s (WHD) about its new program, the Payroll Audit Independent Determination (PAID) program. PAID facilitates resolution of potential overtime and minimum wage violations under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
The free event will take place in Denver on Wednesday, April 3. According to WHD, a high-ranking DOL official will give the seminar and leave time for answering questions from attendees. The PAID program’s intention is to resolve wage and overtime violations efficiently and can help avoid litigation, which can be costly and damaging to all parties. With this program, employers are encouraged to conduct audits and to self-report overtime or minimum wage violations they discover. Employers may then work in good faith with WHD to correct their mistakes and to pay back wages due to their affected employees. Event details: Date: April 3rd, 2019 Can’t attend the meeting?
