ALCC Fall Mixer Oct 23: Spooky Stroll of Cheesman Park with Phil Goodstein
Cheesman Park (Denver)
9th Ave and Race Street
Denver, CO 80206
Wednesday, October 23, 2024, 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM MST
Category: Networking

What is today Cheesman Park was Denver's first cemetery.  Not all the bodies were moved.  Where are they?  What happened?  Have they left spirits behind?  How is it that bones keep showing up in the park?  Are there stories of hauntings?

Join ALCC for a guided walking tour of Cheesman Park by local historian Phil Goodstein. This walk will discuss the history of the park including the highly controversial career of Walter Scott Cheesman and the way the events of the Hollywood horror film The Changeling were based on supposed events adjacent to the park. It will tell about the CIA spook present in a house next to the park and a lot more!

Register to attend
This event is for ALCC members only. There is no fee to attend but registration is required. Space is limited. Please RSVP by Oct 21.

Meet at the SE corner of the park just past the barricades off 9th Ave west of Race Street. See map. There is street parking in the neighborhood near 9th and Race Street. The tour will begin promptly at 5:00PM. Please plan to arrive 10 minutes early to allow for parking. Also keep in mind that this is an outdoor event so please dress for the weather. Light refreshments will be provided.
