Businesses continue to oppose OSHA’s electronic reporting requirements regarding workplace injury and illness. The requirements are part of a final rule issued in 2016 which was revised in July 2018. The revision eliminated some reporting requirements due to security concerns but other electronic reporting requirements remain. A group of business organizations, including the National Association of Landscape Professionals, has issued a statement urging OSHA to make further revisions.

Scott Wallace is an innovative teacher at an innovative school. After teaching middle school each morning, he heads to Colorado’s Finest High School of Choice in Englewood. Kids in his afternoon classes most often learn through their hands and they meet science and math requirements while getting in touch with plants and animals, almost every day.

Betsy Wagner, Wagner Equipment Co., Aurora, walks through her days in an industry that is still very much a man’s world. It is rare to see women in the construction industry since women only comprise 8 to 10 percent of the workforce.
In her role as Sales Development Manager, Wagner must fit in and get along with the men on her own team plus those who are customers and potential customers. “It takes product knowledge and hard work to command respect—and being able to talk the industry language is part of it,” she says.
