soilWhen you are ready to feed your body, would you rather feast on a plate of food balanced with different food groups, colors, flavors and smells, or a handful of manufactured vitamins and nutrient supplements? If you prefer a meal of “real food” to thrive, you’re no different from plants. 

The best source of real food plants need to live lies within the soil. Plants crave fertile soil replete with small crawly and wiggly animals, weird-looking, barely visible fungi and microorganisms too small to see.  

Sadly, degraded soil worldwide has raised concerns about sustainability for food.

Defining who is liable in snow and ice agreements is top priority. Consider how to limit your liability on the site. If the client only wants snow and ice management for 4 inches or more of snow, but a resident slips and falls after a 1-inch storm, do you as the contractor, have liability?

The Best of Show Pansy – ‘Freefall XL Purple Face’ from Floranova In late spring, the Colorado State University published the latest results from it’s pansy/cool season flower trial. This trial evaluates the plants’ ability to overwinter in the Northern Colorado climate.

The Best of Show Pansy – ‘Freefall XL Purple Face’ from Floranova
Vibrant flowers covered the plant all over including not just the top but the sides as well. Plants were vigorous and sturdy as well as being covered by blooms. White centers really made the dark purple flowers stand out. This entry also won the Best Trailing Pansy category.
