Colorado Springs Utilities was awarded the HIRE Vets Medallion—Platinum for their successful efforts to recruit and hire US military veterans. This is the second time that the utility has received the award in the three years that the program has been active.

On its blog, Colorado Springs Utilities said, “Our efforts to hire military veterans has proven to be a successful talent acquisition strategy. In addition to gaining high-performing employees, veterans place a high value on teamwork and a strong sense of mission stemming from their military service – characteristics we find well suited for what we do! This award is a testament to our commitment to continue to honor those who have served once they have transitioned.”

The Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing (HIRE) American Military Veterans Act of 2017 helped establish the HIRE Vets Medallion Program. It aims to recognize employer efforts to recruit, employ, and retain veterans.
