Free app offers local water regs, rebate info Email

H2OregsCO appWith summer approaching, many municipalities have enacted watering rules. Some have even instituted watering restrictions in response to drought. To keep track of these regulations, as well as information about permits, required certifications, and more, Colorado WaterWise offers a free tool to make compliance easier for landscape professionals and consumers.

The smartphone app, known as H20RegsCO, helps promote and facilitate outdoor water efficiency and compliance by connecting water providers with the contractors and landscape professionals working within their jurisdictions. The app supplies timely and important outdoor water use information and rules to an increasingly busy and mobile audience. It combines disparate information into one source, available on-demand, 24/7. If drought restrictions are enabled, the app can provide updates on ordinances.

The app is free to download in iTunes and Android App Store for phones and tablets by searching for H20regsCO. It also has a standard website for access from desktop computers and mobile devices: http://m.h2oregsco.org/. Landscapers and contractors can search by ZIP code to find rebates, utility codes, ordinances, restrictions and procedural information applicable to their work sites. Since some ZIP codes are served by multiple providers, users will have to know or ask the customer for the water provider at the job site. Navigation is easy: switch between ZIP codes and there is a My Profile customization option to keep frequently used information. With this tool, you can get the Right Rules, Right Now.

Denver Water, Colorado Springs, Thornton, Greeley, Fountain, Town of Breckenridge, Town of Castle Rock, and Ute Water Conservancy District are among the current participating utilities. If your town or a work location isn’t included, please have them contact ALCC at [email protected] or call 303 757-5611 to set up a free account in minutes. The app can reduce call volume by giving direct access to information often found within various websites and municipal organizations. Updates or changes to these utility guidelines can activate a notification to the user, signifying a change has been made.

Landscape pros are encouraged to download the app, try it out, share it with colleagues, and provide feedback. The app can be updated and enhanced based on user input.

The H20regsCO app is presented in partnership with Colorado WaterWise, Colorado Arborists and Lawn Care Professionals, Associated Landscape Contractors of Colorado and Colorado Water Conservation Board.
