ALCC’s Southern Chapter Day of Service project helped build outdoor learning labs for students interested in careers in landscape. Falcon High School, the latest school to participate in the Landscape Career Pathways Program, will launch its first landscape program in the fall. “With the help of the Southern Chapter of ALCC and their Day of Service, the students at Falcon High School have a first-rate outdoor learning area,” said Dave Franz, an instructor at Falcon High who is leading the landscape career pathway program. “The ability to get the students out of the traditional classroom and get their hands dirty is an awesome opportunity. Also, the possibility of working alongside pros in the industry will enhance the students' educational opportunities.” A total of 31 volunteers participated in the project.
