PlantSelectPlantSelect® has much to offer for both the Colorado landscape industry and consumers. This spring, they launched a new logo, a new guide to plants that require fewer resources, and an upgraded web site.

The 2015 PlantSelect® guide to plants includes over 120 plants designed to thrive in high plains and intermountain regions. The guide is detailed, offering photos and facts about each plant, including pollinator information.

The new web site has multiple resources for anyone interested in supporting pollinators in the landscape:

  • The web site’s “Find a Plant” search allows visitors to search for plants that are good for pollinators. A simple search returns dozens of colorful, hardy plants that will attract and support bees, moths, hummingbirds, butterflies, and more.
  • Plant Stories delves deeper into the characteristics of the plants profiled.
  • An interactive map of statewide demonstration gardens invites you to visit the plants to see how they look up close and in the landscape.
  • Educational events are listed, including “Habitat Heroes: Transforming Your Yard into a Dream Habitat,” a lecture scheduled for June 18. Presenters will “share design concepts, plant choices and gardening practices for creating beautiful, habitat-friendly landscapes in your Colorado garden.” The event takes place at 7:00 pm at Denver Botanic Gardens.
  • An excellent video series includes this video that you can share with consumers.
