RAQC is requesting applications to fund the purchase of low emission, commercial-grade, lawn and garden equipment to improve air quality in the Denver Metro/North Front Range ozone nonattainment area. Approximately $120,000 is available for funding the replacement of gasoline-powered commercial lawn and garden equipment with battery or propane powered equipment. Funding will be on a first-come-first-served basis, with minimum awards of $1,000 and maximum awards of $15,000 per entity. The online application will be open continuously until funding is expended. Entities interested in receiving grant funding must apply for and be awarded funding before purchasing eligible equipment. No equipment will be funded retroactively. Eligible entities include the following public entities located in the ozone nonattainment area: local governments, schools and universities, state agencies, parks and recreation special districts, and private contractors who are contracted to provide services for these entities. The Denver Metro/North Front Range ozone nonattainment area covers a large section of the Front Range, including Fort Collins, Greeley, Denver, Aurora, Estes Park, and Castle Rock.
