JBK gives backJBK Landscape believes that giving back to the community is an important part of their company culture. For the last few years, in cooperation with Landscapes USA, the company has given away $1,000 each week in the communities where they work.

“We are committed to creating financial success and giving back to those who are less fortunate. We do this every week by taking submissions from our team members and donating to those individuals and organizations that are most in need of a one-time gift. We hope our generosity will inspire others to also be generous with their time, talents, and resources.“

A committee, which changes every six months or so, reviews proposals to decide where the gifts will go. Criteria for recipients is flexible, and proposals can be submitted by either employees or customers. Word of the program has been spread through account managers.

Recipients of the weekly gifts come from many places. Sometimes the recipient is a member of the JBK community: an employee who has suffered a hardship or tragedy, a local family with a one-time emergency, or a local charity favored by staff or clients. Some weeks the gift is shared among multiple recipients.

In addition to the weekly donations, JBK also supports Denver Botanic Gardens and funds a scholarship through ALCC for a young person pursuing education for a career in the green industry.
