The Inc. 5000 was announced earlier this month. Denver-based Lifescape Colorado was the only Colorado landscape company to appear on this list this year. It is Lifescape’s fifth consecutive appearance on the list. With a 2018 revenue of $14.6M and a three-year growth of 78%, Lifescape placed at 4088 this year.
Emerald ash borer (EAB) continues to make its way down the Front Range. Last week, the pest was confirmed in Broomfield. The city had been preparing for the arrival of EAB, with monitoring and detection, public information campaigns, and assessments of existing ash trees.
Welby Gardens hosted its 28th annual flower trial event on August 7, 2019. Approximately 450 people--breeders, landscape professionals, growers, independent garden centers, and more—attended to evaluate just around 950 plants.
The summer flower trials at Welby Gardens were well-attended, and the results, released earlier this week, were highly anticipated. The top three winners feature bold colors that are sure to be striking additions to next season’s landscapes.
Colorado State University researchers continue to evaluate over 1,300 taxa of woody plants for adaptability, ornamental flowers, fruit, fall color and pest problems. Of recent interest, are woody plants with a columnar growth habit that can be planted in residential areas with limited space between homes. The plants presented here are proven adaptable to Colorado conditions.Announcements
