Smart Irrigation MonthColorado Governor Jared Polis has proclaimed July 2019 as Smart Irrigation Month. It is the eighth consecutive year that CPS Distributors has successfully requested the proclamation in Colorado. The aim of the initiative is to promote efficient water use and help customers save water, save money and see better results.

FAMLI task forceThe first meeting of the Family & Medical Leave Insurance Task Force will be held on Tuesday, July 16th, at 9:30 am. The task force, composed of 13 appointed members, was created to explore the creation of a statewide paid family and medical leave program after Senate Bill 188 (FAMLI) was defeated in the 2019 state legislative session.

With changes coming to the Landscape Industry Certified Technician test in 2020, ALCC’s Colorado certification testing committee has worked to present hands-on testing opportunities for those aiming to be certified by the end of 2019. Staff and volunteers faced a number of challenges leading up to and during the June 8 test date but rose above them to complete the day.

Landscape Industry CertificationIt takes a lot of time, effort, and generosity from the green industry to present hands-on testing for Landscape Industry Certification. For the June 8, 2019 hands-on test in Colorado, a "skeleton crew" of volunteers still consisted of nearly 40 individuals in order to test more than 75 candidates.
