Metco Landscape, Aurora, celebrates 30 years in business this year. Mark Tomko, CEO, got into the landscape industry after the stock market crash of the late 1980s, when he could no longer find work as a stockbroker. He began mowing lawns to earn a living, but Tomko says he still doesn’t know much about landscaping--he is a customer service and marketing guy.

We’re in the middle of Pollinator Week 2016, an international celebration of the valuable ecosystem services provided by bees, birds, butterflies, bats and beetles. To support Pollinator Week efforts, ALCC has created several web pages of information for both landscape professionals and consumers to learn more about creating a healthy landscape for insects and animals that pollinate our plants.

(WASHINGTON, DC) -- The H-2B Workforce Coalition applauded the work of the Senate Labor Health and Human Services Appropriations Subcommittee, which included in its mark-up of its yearly spending bill important provisions that will help keep American small businesses open and sustain American jobs.
The Senate Appropriations Committee considered the legislation last week, and is hoped to reach the floor sometime this summer.
