COVID-19 and the landscpape industry: CEO update April 13 Email
Monday, April 13, 2020 05:00 PM

Good afternoon,

We’ve been monitoring events related to the COVID-19 outbreak as they apply to the landscape industry, including the governor’s press conference today. We did not hear of any increased restrictions statewide other than isolated instances in areas like Pitkin County.

We encourage you to notify us if you encounter further restrictions in your area. We also continue to urge companies to demonstrate strong social distancing and safety practices to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

We recognize that while we are fighting hard for those companies who continue to operate as essential/critical services, it is important to recognize that this is an individual company decision. We understand that not all landscape companies deem their services essential after review. For those who continue to work in the capacity that we spelled out previously, please follow proper protocols to keep employees and the public safe. The next two weeks will be critical in determining if the stay at home order will be extended beyond April 31. On the positive side, it appears the social distancing efforts are working in Colorado. There are reports that COVID-19 cases are leveling off, and it is expected that news about how Colorado might ease into the next phase MAY come by April 25.

I will continue to update you with new information as it becomes available. I hope you’ll join me this Wednesday, April 15, for our next COVID-19 webinar about the effects of the pandemic on Colorado landscape businesses. The following topics will be discussed:

  • Financial strategies to implement for business stability during a time of uncertainty, including SBA loans
  • Human resources insights
  • Insurance updates
  • Landscape company best practices in communications and operations

As always, please contact ALCC if you have questions or need resources to help you navigate these challenging times. And please visit www.alcc.com/covid or visit our blog for the latest news.
