ALCC to join national advocacy fly-in Email

airplane wingALCC will join fellow members of the H-2B Workforce Coalition and other concerned organizations in Washington, DC on November 2nd for an H-2B Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill. As the landscape industry's workforce issues escalate, the H-2B visa program has become a vital source of labor so that businesses can continue to operate. 

Colorado is currently experiencing tremendous growth at a time when the unemployment rate is already one of the lowest in the nation. ALCC believes that without a large presence in demand of cap relief, it is unlikely that many companies will be able to find the workers they need in 2018.

The recipient of the State Association Advocate of the Year award is Mike Leman of Singing Hills Landscape, Inc. Leman is a member of the ALCC Board of Directors and a long-time participant in advocacy work.

Chuy Medrano joins Lawn & Landscape's Leadership Class Email

Jesus Lawn & Landscape magazine and partner Syngenta named its 2017 Leadership Class during the GIE+EXPO in Louisville, Kentucky. 
This year, Jesus “Chuy” Medrano, of long-time ALCC member CoCal Landscape, was part of that Leadership Class. It is a well-deserved honor.  Also recognized were Rick Doesburg, Thornton Landscape; Warren Gorowitz, Ewing Irrigation & Landscape Supply; Matt Jesson, Green Lawn Fertilizing; and Emerging Leader Kelly Dowell, Dowco Enterprises.
