A strong reminder it is critical that our members are strictly following CDC and OSHA safety protocols around the COVID-19 outbreak and distancing. This is a concern not only for the safety and health of landscape employees but for the reputation of our industry that they are following social distancing guidelines.

While ALCC has provided information that supports the landscape industry as an essential service and a critical business that may continue to operate despite the stay-at-home order for Colorado, it is up to individual landscape companies to determine whether their services actually qualify as essential.

USCIS Temporary Office Closure Extended until at least May 3 Email

See the following announcement from USCIS:

On March 18, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services temporarily suspended routine in-person services to help slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). USCIS plans to begin reopening our offices on May 4, unless the public closures are extended further. USCIS staff are continuing to perform duties that do not involve contact with the public. However, USCIS will provide emergency services for limited situations. To schedule an emergency appointment, contact the USCIS Contact Center.

Building mobile handwashing stations Email

Jeff Waterhouse of Grounds Guys of Parker shared a tip with us last week. Using five-gallon buckets, he made handwashing stations for each of his crews to use in the field. The video below demonstrates how to make them. Waterhouse is using a longer irrigation lever that allows crews to operate the station without touching the lever with their hands.
