Judd Bryarly, Timberline LandscapingIn January, Timberline Landscaping, Colorado Springs, announced the promotion of long-time Vice President, Judd Bryarly, to Chief Executive Officer. His promotion represents a big leadership shift, as longtime leader Tim Emick transitions to a new role on the board of directors.

Bryarly has been with Timberline for 25 years—since the beginning of his career. He started at Timberline in 1993 as a part-time laborer while attending Mesa State in Grand Junction. Since that time, he has worn many hats: foreman, estimator, operations manager, vice president, and now CEO.

In 1996, Bryarly was the first employee to complete Landscape Industry Certified Technician testing (then called CLT). He later served as chair of Associated Landscape Contractors of Colorado’s certification committee and eventually joined the ALCC board of directors, serving as president in 2011.

Tim Emick, President of Timberline Landscaping since 1982, will continue to serve the company as Chairman of the Board of Directors. The growth of the company and diversification has necessitated the need for the shift. Timberline is building a new building and yard, which requires Tim’s focus. He remains at the helm of strategic plans as board chairman.

According to Emick, “Bryarly’s commitment to individual development and that of the company are unprecedented.” He added that Judd is persistent, dedicated, and trustworthy. His varying positions over the years have provided him the skills necessary to lead the company. He has been a first-time developer of many things at Timberline and is always accepting of new challenges.

As for Bryarly, he is excited to take on this new position. “I would like to empower our people to be strong decision makers who are accountable to our clients, each other and the company. Continued growth by helping support our business units and departments with their strategic initiatives through strengthened relationships with clients, new product offerings, and innovation. Tim has set the bar high in building such an incredible company and has provided myself and the company with the tools and opportunities to continue to strengthen our foundation roots, while continuing to grow and thrive.”
