Mansfield Manor, as the project is known, is a designer’s dream at a home in Greenwood Village. The homeowner wanted their property to burst with color and encourage guests to explore the yard. Otherwise, the designer was given free range to use her imagination. To curb an ongoing battle with rabbits, Designs By Sundown chose a stunning display that was attractive to the client but not to families of bunnies. It was no small feat to create an eye-catching variety of color that matched wildlife-resistant plants to the right areas of sun exposure while keeping in mind water conservation. Large container garden pots were placed around the pool deck and various other patio areas to add life and color. A shade garden with various perennials provides year-round color in a location where most annuals could not thrive. More than a dozen plants were added to the landscape to make it pop. They include dahlias, zinnias, petunias, day lilies, black-eyed Susans. See more photos of the project at https://goo.gl/photos/1iHNGh6hn8g8Ti3d9. Read more in this issue of Colorado Green NOW: |
