Bee Health

The green industry has responded to the public’s concerns about pollinator health. Colony Collapse Disorder in honeybees is still being studied, and more research is needed to understand its causes and how to mitigate it. There are a number of factors that together appear to contribute to this disorder. To focus on eliminating one factor alone will not solve the problem.

The Horticultural Research Institute offers Grow Wise, Bee Smart™, a website that serves as the communications hub for the latest research and developments related to the role horticulture plays in supporting pollinator health. It also features information on the importance of bees and pollinators, threats to their health, and steps everyone can take to improve habitat and forage. Read about their current research on pollinator health here .

You’ll also find links to the Million Pollinator Garden Challenge, a campaign to register a million public and private gardens and landscapes to support pollinators.
