LaptopThe recent warm weather has made consumers think about getting outdoors and about preparing their yards for spring and summer. There has been an increase in web traffic and phone calls to ALCC, looking for referrals to a professional who can help with landscape plans and maintenance.

Now is a good time, then, to do some spring cleaning for your landscape company’s online image. You take the time to prepare your equipment, hire and train staff, and get your finances in order. But don’t forget to make sure consumers can find you when they need you. Take some steps to spruce up your online presence.

Update your web listings

Search the Internet for your business name. Are the phone number, address, and web site that appear the correct ones? You can register your business with Google, Yelp, and other consumer-related sites to give you more power over what customers see online. Make sure they get all the information they need to make a decision to contact you.

Update your information at http://www.alcc.com/find-a-landscape-pro
Log in to alcc.com* and update your business’s information and services on the “Find a Pro” tab in your profile. Hundreds of people visit ALCC’s online referral page each week, looking for a landscape company to help them. Be sure that your profile is up-to-date.

Update your web site and/or Facebook page
You took the time to create a web site or a Facebook page for your business. If you haven’t updated it since it was created, do it now. Use a free tool like HootSuite or Buffer to schedule some blog posts or Facebook updates for the next few months (Landscape Colorado, a consumer page on Facebook hosted by ALCC, is a one place to find shareable content). Check your contact information and staff listings to be sure they are correct.

Some online spring cleaning can affect the success of your business this season. Make the time now to get your business ready for a great year.
