Emerald Ash Borer

The Colorado Emerald Ash Borer response team is offering an Emerald Ash Borer Detection & Ash Tree Assessment Workshop to help green industry pros learn how to assess ash trees and look for infestation.

The training will be offered 6 six times during November and December 2014 at the Boulder Forestry Yard, Boulder.

Workshop participants will learn techniques for:

  • Assessing ash trees for EAB damage,
  • Collecting branch samples for EAB detection surveys and
  • Branch peeling to detect EAB larvae. 

Basic diagnostics for other causes of ash tree decline will also be covered.

The two-hour workshops will be offered in morning and afternoon sessions on November 18, December 2 and December 15. Advance registration is required. To register, Micaela Truslove at Colorado Department of Agriculture, or call 303 869-9072.
