H-2B visa programOn November 8, 2018, the US Department of Labor announced a proposal related to the H-2B visa program and the requirements for advertising available jobs to US workers. The proposal seeks to require online advertising for employers applying for temporary labor certifications.

Currently, the requirement is the publication of two print advertisements. The new rule would require an online job ad for at least two weeks (14 days). This would modernize the program and make recruitment requirements more likely to reach American workers. For many employers, online job listings are already part of current recruitment efforts.

The Notice of Proposed Rulemaking comment period will end on December 10, 2018. Read the full notice on the Federal Register.
