2017 Day of Service

ALCC's 2017 Day of Service projects are an opportunity to come together to give back within our communities – and everyone leaves at the end of the day knowing they got more back than they gave. Learn more about this year’s projects at the bottom of the page.

About the projects:

The Southern Chapter worked with
Falcon High School, which will launch a landscape curriculum via Landscape Career Pathways Program this fall. The purpose of the project was to design and build an outdoor learning laboratory area for instructional purposes to support the new landscape curriculum currently being implemented. Volunteers donated the needed materials and labor to install and plant a large bed with a variety of planting materials (for plant identification), a breeze walkway along the new bed, one 20’x20’ wooden framed box (for demonstrating/practicing sod, edging and paver skills) and four 12’x12’ wooden framed boxes (for demonstrating various irrigation system skills) in the provided area outside of the school.

Thursday, April 26, 2017 - rescheduled from 4/21
Denver Chapter worked alongside students in the Career Pathway Program at Green Mountain High School, Lakewood. The project built upon work begun last year and will create more outdoor learning areas where students can practice hands-on landscape skills.

Thanks to those who donated time and materials to the 2017 projects: Check back soon for updates.
