American Recycles Day November 15Keep America Beautiful, a national nonprofit that inspires and educates people to take action every day to improve and beautify their community environment, has designated Sunday, November 15 as America Recycles Day. Businesses and individuals are encouraged to take a pledge to recycle or to host an event to promote recycling in the community.

The web site for American Recycles Day offers toolkits for hosting an event as well as maps of events so that you can join others in your area to learn about how you can increase your recycling efforts and reduce your impact on the environment. There are resources for public recycling, tips for hard-to-recycle items such as electronics, and links to Recycling @ Work, an initiative to help businesses build a recycling program at the workplace.

“America Recycles Day provides a key moment in time to regain momentum for recycling in America, and to help make recycling a daily social norm across the country,” said Brenda Pulley, senior vice president, recycling, Keep America Beautiful. “Let’s get people recycling every day – at home, at work and on the go!”
